Best way to sync 2 Microbrutes, a Roland TR8s and a Volca Keys.

I have come into the possession of

2 x Microbrutes
Roland TR8s
Volca Keys

I also have Cubase Pro 10 and a Steinberg UR44.

I'm a fairly experienced musician and have been recording with Cubase for about ten years. But my knowledge of midi, synthesizers and drum machines etc is very limited.

I realise I may be asking a lot but I would really appreciate it if someone could explain to me the best way of connecting these machines, both independently and also into Cubase.

I anticipate that I will be using the above as follows:

Microbrute 1 = Bass
Microbrute 2= Lead
Volca = chords/2nd lead
TR8s = Drums and samples

This is just my initial thought and I'm open to switching the roles of these.

Thanks in advance

you have to check what sync ins and out each device has. some of these may or may not have midi in/out/through(chain). and some may or may not have only analog "sync" in.

I have a korg sq-1 sequencer and it only does midi out but it does "sync" in and out. so i usually sync it with an analog sync signal from my modular system. i always have to fiddle with the actual pulses out of the modular to get it to play ball though. it uses some non standard pulse system. i think i run the pulses out at double or half speed for it to work as expected.

one of your devices will have to work as master and the rest of slaves.

I think you can also buy some "master clock" devices.
