Signal Chain for recording guitar

Hola!

My guitar sound is coming into Pro Tools incredibly weak, low and needs so much work in Pro Tools to compensate when I'm running through AxeFx II into a Celestion 15" isolation box, then to the Apollo Twin/Pro Tools.

I have an sm57 in the box and I'm wondering if that's the culprit? I was considering testing out a condenser mic in there.

Should I go to an amp instead of the isolation speaker and mic the amp?

When I put the AxeFX DI into the Apollo Twin it doesn't sound that bad but it's missing that amp feel.

Cheers in advance!

What is powering the speaker?

It's just being powered by the XLR cable... If this celestion iso box needs power and I've been complacent of that, I'm going to feel red.

The speaker in the box needs to be powered by an amp.

Micing an ax fx really doesn't make sense. You would be better served going direct into the Appollo and working your presets to sound best that way.

Would routing my AxeFx into a 30w guitar and bypassing the amp speaking to the iso box work?

Also you need a power amp to power a cab.
