Starting at page 12 in the manual it goes into editing/creating patches, unless I'm not understanding your question.

If Korg haven’t changed things lately, you can probably download the entire manual (PDF) from their website.

Also, do you have to use the patch editor software to do patching? I’m confused as to how important the software is and how to download other people’s patches
