How to connect studio monitors to ps4

So i'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to audio, so I don't know how to make this work.

I have two yamaha hs7 studio monitors + a scarlet 4i2 audio interface + a 27 inch 1080p samsung monitor (with 2 hdmi ports, 1 vga port, audio in, component ports and a headjack).

I want to hook them up to my ps4 and computer, how do I do it?

You need either:
A new interface with Optical In

Or

A receiver to convert the HDMI from your PS4 to audio to send to your speakers analog.

Could you be so kind tot list all the items which I would need for the hdmi to analog converter and explain how I would install it?

Thanks for the previous reply btw!

PS.

What about a digital to analog converter? Would that work too?

Digital to analog converter is what you need.

It needs TOSlink in and send out an analog signal.

And how do I connect the analog signal to my studio monitors?

PS.

To sum it up:

1× optical cable toslink (like this one http://www.bax-shop.nl/toslink-kabel...t-details.html)
1× digital to analog converter (like this one http://www.bax-shop.nl/conversie-app...FWrkwgodfNUGsw)
1× ?

Yes, that box works. Then you connect the AV out cables to your interface or you can send it directly to your monitors by plugging them straight in.

Please don't PM me if you don't understand. Quote my post in your reply by using the "Quote" button. That's a better way to raise my attention.

Sorry for that, I didn't meant to upset you!

So to summarize

With an optical cable from ps4 to converter and with an av cable from converter to unbalanced line outputs on the back of my scarlett 2i4 (because I don't suppose you can directly connect them to my yamaha hs7' because they only have an trs and xlr input (or can I use something 2 of these http://www.bax-shop.nl/xlr-rca/devin...t-details.html))

ps4>optical cable>converter>rca cable>unbalanced line outputs?

1× optical cable toslink (like this one http://www.bax-shop.nl/toslink-kabel...t-details.html)
1× digital to analog converter (like this one http://www.bax-shop.nl/conversie-app...arslutz.com%2F)
1× rca cable (http://www.bax-shop.nl/tulp-/-rca-ka...t-details.html)

and this should just work 100% correct?

Go straight to the monitors with the adapter, that'll be better than into the Scarlet, unless you're looking to record the audio from the games.

First of all I want to thank you for helping me figurring this out and being so patient with me!

To just check it one more time

ps4 > optical cable (HQ standaard optische kabel toslink - toslink 0,70 m kopen? | Goedkope | Promo | Toslink Kabel) > optical to analog converter (http://www.bax-shop.nl/conversie-app...arslutz.com%2F) > rca cable (HQ 2x RCA mannelijk - 2x RCA mannelijk 2.5 m kopen? | Goedkope | Promo | Tulp / RCA kabels) > 2x this adapter (Devine ADA134 RCA female - XLR female adapter plug kopen? | Goedkope | Promo | XLR - RCA) > yamaha hs7' xlr input

could you be so kind to check and say to me if all of these products are right for me to connect my ps4 to my yamaha hs7' and if you know for sure 100% that this works!

Again many thanks for helping me, I couldn't even come close to figuring it out without you.

I never know for certain, but yes, that should work.

As long as none of that stuff is faulty, you should be good to go, and I'm pretty sure you already understand how the connections will go.

Hi I found this topic the most relevant to my issue. Well, it's not a big problem cause I have similar setup hooked up to my PS4. I have an analogue converter plugged via optical cable and my studio monitors (KRK ROKIT G2 6") plugged via xlr/rca cable. The sound works fine the only issue I am having is that I need to disconnect my TRS cables that are hooked up to sound card to get them work. When I play sound through my laptop and sound card there is no issue with the xlr cables plugged in at the same time. Another problem is the sound volume. I could not figure out how to control it. Appart from the volume knobs in the back of the speakers or internal volume control in particular games. Any advice on this?
