Aviate Audio Launches Airpatch Wireless Effects Controller

Aviate Audio co-founders Ryan Jaquin and Shane Nolan are proud to announce the launch of the company’s revolutionary Airpatch device, the first wireless effects loop switch for guitars. The product will officially launch at the 2019 Summer NAAM trade show, which will be held July 18-20 in Nashville, TN.

The Airpatch device is a wireless effects dock and controller that can interface with any pedal or signal chain. It allows musicians to control sound effects that normally require you to stomp on an array of effects pedals, through a single device — and it does this wirelessly, right from the user’s guitar. This eliminates the back and forth "tap dancing," which happens while trying to activate multiple effects pedals at once. Airpatch users are able to get more from their pedals including momentary and reverse momentary switching, which quickly brings effects in and out of the signal. Airpatch also functions as a wireless killswitch — a unique feature that eliminates the need to drill or route a killswitch in. Multiple controllers can be paired and used on separate instruments, creating the opportunity to interface multiple instruments during live performances. And best of all, Airpatch is small, designed to fit with your equipment.

“Shane and I are both musicians, so we had first-hand experience with the limitations of guitar rigs,” said Jaquin. “So as engineers, we created a solution that solved the problems we were experiencing, but also added unique features that make Airpatch an innovative, creative tool.”

Aviate Audio is a music electronics company that develops next generation devices designed to elevate musical performance. Aviate Audio formed in a University at Buffalo classroom as the student team “Bitcrusher.” That team, comprised of Jaquin and Nolan (who each earned M.B.A and B.S. Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo) won numerous competitions including UB’s Henry A. Panasci Jr. Technology Entrepreneurship Competition (Panasci TEC) and Bulls Launch Elevator. The team followed those victories with a 1stplace win at the New York State Business Plan Award competition and 2nd place at the Bright Buffalo Niagara Entrepreneur Expo. The collective award money was used to fund their startup company, and to develop and commercialize their Airpatch device, which is patent pending.

Before it July launch, Airpatch will prelaunch with an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign beginning June 14th:
