ircamLAB releases TS2 Audio Editing and Time Stretching application

A software that no one has ever built before

ircamLAB proudly announce the release of "TS2", a major upgrade to their acclaimed TS application.

Today, ircamLAB and their official worldwide distributor Plugivery, proudly announce that they have released a new version of IRCAM's flagship TS (Time-Stretch) application, now renamed "TS2".

The ircamLAB TS2 application sets a new standard in digital audio editing. It is a powerful audio toolbox application for professionals to edit or magically transform, time-stretch and manipulate audio files.

The new TS2 is now a full mono/stereo audio editor. It can edit any audio regions (Copy, Cut, Paste), transpose, "Transient Design", and offer remix, extensive mastering capabilities and much more with unprecedented accuracy.

TS2 now supports the hosting of 3rd party external VST/AU effects from plug-in manufacturers.

The new TS2 application is a comprehensive suite of tools focused on the acclaimed SuperVP Engine to process complex audio editing tasks that includes full automation of parameters such as; Pitch, Transposition, Time Stretching, Remix Noise, Sinus & Transient.

Post-production professionals, audio engineers, sound designers, musicians and video editors alike can use TS2 to transform recordings into production-ready audio files.

TS2 has been re-designed from scratch thanks to the amazing feedback and requests collected by users over the years. It processes an accurate real-time sonogram display and handles full automation over the "Master Module" with multi-format plug-in insertion.

What's New in the TS2 Audio Editor:
  • Full Audio Editing Capabilities
  • Copy, Cut, Paste, Loop functions on Audio Regions
  • Full Automation over the SuperVP™ engine
  • Individual Volume Control with Fade In & Out
  • Multi Regions Editing with Cross-fades
  • Unlimited Undo's
  • Multiple Audio Files Management
  • Multiple Documents
  • Multi Ruler Control (time, second)

I don’t see it available in any of the plugin stores like Audiodeluxe, Jrrshop, Thomann...
Is it only available through the Ircam store ?

Very nice update with great sound and easy to use.
Generous free update from version 1.
The only thing I would like is to have a tempo grid to be able to snap automation points to. That would make this great for post production tempo editing or to create perfect tempo changes in song demos, pre production.
Studio One still rules for me in this aspect.

Is this capable of Paul Stretch's extreme stretch lengths?.

Unfortunately not - the time stretch is 25% speed to 4x speed (TS1 was 30% speed to 100x speed). Though I guess you can run the rate stretch process on the file multiple times ...

Is timestretch quality improved at all in this new version? Or is it just new features?

Not sure if it’s been improved but it sounds very good for changes of a few bpm. I need to do a proper comparison with Studio One’s timestreaching to see if it’s better.

Remind me to never throw pearls before swine again.
Oops! Sorry I was making a funny.
Obviously it didn’t come across as such.
I am very aware of Simon’s brilliant work and have bought products from him in the past.

I have a 1966 mono basic track of drums/bass that I pulled from the 1966 multitrack. The basic wasn't tracked to a click. Tempo has some fluctuation.

If I load it into this program, can I have the program adjust/fix the tempo to a set bpm for the entire 3 minute basic track? Without of course, affecting pitch.

Just wondering.

No problem. My jokes often fall like lead balloons, it’s the way I tell ‘em, so I am glad that you thought it clever.
Still, I won’t be giving up my day job just yet.

It would be beyond the scope of this application which is not able to detect tempo information as far as I can see.
If that functionality could be added and editing of automation could be to a beat grid it would be great for such.

You can do that pretty easily in Logic.

Which DAW do you use? This is easily done in Logic X!

For anyone! Why would I use this app/plugin over Logic for example? Can someone give me a reason and application where this would be better? Maybe beyond algorithms!
