Klevgränd releases new plugin: Knorr - Bass vitalizer

Knorr is a plugin that adds intensity and edge to a monophonic low frequency audio source (like a bass). The algorithm adds overtones to an existing sound in a way that isn’t possible with ordinary distortion or filtering.

The Knorr Algorithm

The underlying algorithm uses a combination of filtering, amplitude- , and frequency modulation to process incoming audio. Although Knorr is developed with bass sounds in mind, it can be used on any monophonic sound source as long as there is audio content available in the low mids (and below).

Knorr is available as AU/VST/AAX for desktop and AUv3 for iPad.

Pricing:

Mac/Windows (AU/VST/AAX): $24.99
(intro price until Nov 4, then $29.99)
iOS (iPad/AUv3 only): $5.99 (intro price until Nov 4, then $9.99)

It is also used in a positive sense. To add "knorr" to something means making it more nice in some way.

Why is monophonic mentioned...? It won’t work on polyphonic material?

adds too much group delay to be usable for me.i already do similar things with AM that has an audio input and FM8FX.i think it's whatever filter they are using because putting this thing on instantly makes the low end sound like it is trailing behind the kick drum on my monitors.could try it in parallel but would probably need to render it out and find a better start point

The overall sound is ok, hard seems to really emphasize the upper low-mids so that can be good if it's what you're going for. Still trying it in different situations.

Just tested the Knorr demo and it's awesome! It works really well on sub basses for example, to make them easily stand out in the mix on smaller speaker systems as well.

Perhaps a poor translation to English? My guess is the developer meant Monaural as opposed to stereo. One channel only.

If there’s some kind of pitch shift/octaver going on under the hood, it is possible that it only works well on monophonic sources.

Love this. Great for making low end sounds pop more, especially through smaller speakers. WAY better than the alternatives like rbass

How does this compare to bx_subfilter (one of my favorite plugins) or RBass?

Knorr does not work very well with polyphonic audio content (sounds more like a weird dist when used on audio containing several pitches at the same time).

It works fine in stereo (as in 2 channel audio stream) though; each channel is processed individually.

Please let our support know (mail to support at klevgrand dot se) and they'll trouble shoot. Some one with the exact same specs recently commented this on our facebook post, are you the same user or is it a coincidence? We have no other similar reports.

This is a huge compliment, considering I have not to this day, replaced RBass.
