Software SKnote release MainEQ, great control on the mix.

MainEQ is a special, modern dynamic equaliser with lots of unique features.

- Graphical interface.
- Dynamic filtering with full control for upward and downward action.
- Ten parametric filters (Resonant Low-Shelf, Resonant High-Shelf, 8x Peaking).
- High-Pass and Low-pass filters.
- Tilt filter.
- “Polys”. Filters can be grouped together and moved as one, also by control-keys for alternate movement (e.g. move base gain and target gain together, move on opposite directions, etc.).
- Mid/Side filtering. Each filter can be balanced to act on Mid and Side in different, continuous quantities.
- Global Action control. Scales all filters’ gains to fine tune the action of the EQ. Similar to parallel EQing but without any phase issue.
- Inter-band and inter-track dynamic control. Set a frequency band to control another one or a track to control another track’s EQ (e.g. set the bassdrum to duck the bass guitar).
- Log-scale spectrum analyser. Analyse input, output, other tracks.
- Internal and inter-track spectral matching/carving/flattening (e.g. set vocals track to tame frequencies and get space in the guitars’ track).
- Plain-text preset copy/paste (share presets as plain text in forums).
- Through-clipboard preset copy/paste. Copy from one instance, paste to another one.
- Four preset slots for easy comparisons.
- True Auto-Gain! Engage it and get the output level always matched to the input (and bypass, of course). No ear-fooling.
- Invert button. Get all the filters’ gains inverted as one for complimentary settings (e.g. copy from a competing one, paste to another one and invert).
- Utilities. Useful quick templates, overall settings, undo/redo, etc.

Available as VST/AU/AAX. Launch price 29.99$ until 10 Oct 2019 (regular 39.99$). (Extended to 10 Oct because of previous lack of a demo version).

Hi Q...a few thoughts:

No dynamic action anymore once I slip one inside DDMF Metaplugin to see whether it sounds even better upsampled. And it does sound better. Any chance the dynamic stuff could work inside a wrapper like that in future? Of course likely not anything triggering behaviour from other channels, but at least from inside the plug between bands? Or even just simple separate dynamic bands? At the moment, once inside the wrapper, all dynamic stuff is gone.

The values need to be clickable and type-able, including the Q value, which isn't even visible right now.

And I feel the need to be able to 'grab' the number values, like the gain, and go up or down with it, changing it, without changing anything else, like when you grab the actual graph. It always slides sideways which is tedious when you have your frequency selection nailed and just want to shut your eyes and drop the gain where it sounds good.

And thanks for the fast crash fix!

This thing is quite deep and powerful, so here are a few ideas:

- Carve the spectrum of the guitars to make space for the vocals.
- Flatten the overall spectrum of an instrument and re-model it. Use Tilt for a new balance.
- Set a series of peaking filters along an harmonic series (use Polys to get them linked as one).
- Get the high-freq peaks of the drums to duck the low-end for better definition.
- Set an overall equalisation as the target. Think "target spectrum" instead of "EQ gain".
- Equalise the Side component of a stereo signal to control ambience while keeping focus untouched.
- Equalise the Mid component to "detach" the source from ambience.
- Set an EQ configuration, then make it dynamic to make the effect less blatant.
- Copy the preset from an instance, paste it into another, invert for quick complimentary equalisation.
- Copy a preset and paste it into a forum post for quick sharing.

I think that the inter-band dynamic control can give huge results when shaping the sound of a track or group.

The Mid/Side dynamic EQing, while not always intuitive, is super-powerful to manage focus and ambience.

The Global action control is super-useful for fine setting the EQ.

The inter-track copy/paste, together with the Invert button, are extremely powerful.

bla bla...

Very impressive. I've watched your videos and my poor brain still can't understand most of what this plugin can do!

We are adding it. What is better while in solo? Hearing only the effect of the filter or hearing only the band of the filter?

Option for both? Instinctively I would like to hear the region I’m affecting but hearing the effect could be nice as well.

Thanks Q

Nice sounding high and lowpass filters by the way, Q. Love the simplicity of grab and drop somewhere, and done. No slope choice, no nothing. 12dB/oct are they, I take it? And the tilt is great. Bish bosh = sounds nice. Great, fast vibe.

GUI colours and general look so much like FabFilter Pro Q. Hope they don't do an API knob thing on you.

There aren't many options for a graphical parametric EQ and primary colors are those
