RS56, a very tempting buy

Am I the only one pumped about the current RS56 price?!?

I'd like to know what's special about this EQ?
I've bought the EMI Bundle from which I use and love all plugins, except for the RS56. Not that I don't like it or something, but I haven't found out what makes this EQ different from any of the gazillion of EQs I already have (which sound pretty much the same to me anyways).

Can somebody please shed some light on this one?

It's a passive eq, an early one. So it effects the signal in a very characteristic kind of way.

I wouldn't use it on anything, but if you wanted a vintage sound, then passing it through a REDD or an EMI emulation and using one of these to tweak the tone could work really well in your favour.

Or perhaps you have a modern sounding track and would like to inject a bit of warmth and or texture, then one of these could help you bring a bit more thickness to it.

I wouldn't smear it all over anything though unless I was going for a 50s-60s sound.
