For Mac guys..dual OS MacPro question..

I'm running a MacPro 5,1 with 512 SSD dedicated to OS and a separate SSD dedicated to Audio Projects.

I want to partition my OS drive into into 256GB for 10.7 running my existing DAW (stable and trusted) and other VI's and samplers etc

a 256GB partition for 10.9 with the newest version of my DAW to evaluate and eventually migrate to fully.

My question is, is it OK for each OS to access the same Audio Projects on the other drive?

Or do I need to duplicate my Audio Projects partition - ie one lot for 10.7 and old DAW and one lot for 10.9 and new DAW to access?

If you set the correct permissions on the audio drive, then there should not be an issue, reading and modifying files. That is to say unless you've set up permission to not allow other users read / write / modify / delete access either through chmod or the finder you should be ok.

My system is set up like this. 10.6.8 w/ PT10 and 10.9 with Logic. No problems sharing my audio drive.

The one thing that I would suggest is that you prevent the unused system partition from mounting. Here is the procedure. You would do it in both OS partitions for the unused partition.
