That was a really funny interview! heh

Wow! Sounds difficult, I´m sorry for you.

On my iPhone I can just one button once and say "call NAME".

Or I can open the phone with one button push + swiping once (two quick steps just like in the 90´), open the phone app and push a NAME. And don´t tell me the contacts list were easier to navigate in the 90´!

Good!

Why don´t you just get an iPhone and make your life easy. It´s the best phone ever built. Period.
I'm not a fan of the iPhone. Again the non-removable battery, required data plans from my carrier, lack of a memory card slot...these are all deal breakers for me. The screen is pretty and the apps are neat but for me computer desktops are where it's at. Smart phones are a half-assed attempt at being computers. All I need the phone to do is get a good signal and have good call quality. That's all I want it to do...the other stuff is gravy but I usually only use the alarm clock, text messaging and mp3 player.

Geez, tough crowd.

Back in the before-time when companies didn't reveal anything until launch day, people begged for more transparency.

Now we get unprecedented transparency -- a CEO has a bit too much to drink and tweets a napkin sketch (hypothetical dramatization), and we suddenly want less transparency.

Me, I wanna see that napkin sketch. I don't care how long it takes.

If anything, the public and peer pressure of a company putting its ideas out there will make those products happen sooner, not later.

And, the public forum allows little old us, the consumer, to have an unprecedented voice in tangibly steering the product.

Win-win.

I feel a case of Deja Vu coming on.

Not to knock Slate and Fabrice, they make GREAT plugins, but I see a January full of "we're almost in beta" followed by "we're really close, I just need Fabrice to tweak the sound of a few of the models" to "I thought we had it, but I still wanted a few more tweaks," etc. I'd be shocked if this is released in January. Heck, we haven't even heard any of the modules yet, which suggests the algorithms may not be perfected yet.

My advice: check in often, hope Slate proves me wrong, but don't hold your breath for a January release. If it's out in Q1, I'd be happy.

I'd be glad to give you full disclosure as to where we are at:

FG-S EQ: Done, sounds exactly like the original, and you'll hear more depth and dimension that standard digital filters which do not model the analog artifacts
FG-N EQ: This is 90% done.. the last 10% is replicating the exact tone of the distortion when you overload it
Vintage Compressor: This is a classic emulation of the vintage FET. We want it to be THE most authentic you've heard yet, even with our small transformer mods. It's about 70% there.
Modern Compressor: Done. This is a VCA comp with tons of personality and flexibility.. it can tame a bass guitar or make a snare smack out of the speakers

We're also working on another secret module that we'll preview at NAMM.

Do I hope we can release in January? Yes of course... that's the goal. We're all working very hard.

Cheers,
Steven

This is the one I'm REALLY interested in.

I guess these 10% are what is gonna make it stand apart from the rest. Take care with that .

API would make sense because VCC already has the emulation

+1 on the API 2500

The Waves API 2500 might be my favorite Waves plugin.

But, having another to choose from, with 2014-style modeling practices would be awesome!

Hi Steven - I have the VTM, VCC, VBC - just fantastic stuff. Looking forward to the VMR - one of the things that helped me find my feet with the VBC was the excellent selection of presets. Will there be plenty of these with the VMR modules?
Also - have you considered a preset sharing part of your website, where people can share their presets - maybe get some name producers to share some? Just a thought.

Cheers - looking forward to the VMR and happy new year!

Steve

Steven, I don't care if it takes extra time, just do what you need to do to make them as great as the rest of your plugins.

Yeah, getting excited too. Hopefully it's a Namm debut.

Doesn't it seem like the FG-116 should be the fet one? With the color and number?

If they push it out in January, it will be a "beta version" and for us to solve out the bugs.

I´ve seen this so many times before.
