2013 which are the top 5 Waves plugins you reckon ?

Hi GS, around 7 years ago when I was using the UAD plugs, Waves couldn't come close, but now, they are making some fantastic sounding and useful plugins.

Which are the top 5 best sounding and most useful plugins from Waves that you have till now?

Synths! Leads and stabs for example. But just a tiny amount to add some clarity. Too much would be dangerous. The most I like about it is the way it smooths the mid range (also kills boxiness) and adds just enough highs to give the sound a nice boost. It just 'breaths' more.

For the same method (and some widening) I also use the SPL Vitalizer MK2-T. But the funny part is: I started with Waves' VEQ4. heh

Just curious, as a SoundToys EchoBoy user I see H-Delay mentioned a lot. I tried it once but can't remember anymore why it 'failed' the test against EB and PSP 85 (for me, not in general of course). So what makes it someone's favourite? Waves has more delays for example.

It's just very easy to dial in and sounds like a delay should sound (if that makes any sense) if you have echo boy and the psp you can probably pass on H delay.

RS56 - one of my favorite EQ plugins -- right up there with anything I've got including UAD and Nebula

H-Delay - as someone mentioned, very easy to dial in and sounds great

Vocal Rider - such a timesaver

CLA Vocals/Guitars/Bass - another timesaver

Renaissance Bass - classic tool

Cheers,
Eddie

It seems it's especially useful for guitars and vocals but I don't use guitars. And EB does the job for the few vocals I use. Anyway, maybe I'll give it a try again when I need a new fx toy to play with, just for fun. heh Talking about new toys:

H Delay huh, never timed[?]my buys/opportunities,to be able to nab that one,I must investigate further, seeing as so many have it in their choices[never realised before it was rated that highly].

Studio Classics are certainly fun

Redd highly intriguing

Aphex interesting for altered highs

Both Puig Pultec's very abusably usable IMO

Being a guitar hed,the GEQ is fun for a graphic perspective,as is Q10

L1 always handy

CLA3

I'm not trying to troll hear, before I decided to comment, I compared CLA76 blue face with Uad 2 blueface.

Sorry but the waves version didn't come close. For good measure I tried the Native Instruments VC76 as well, uad2 is leagues better.

The CLA76 is harsh and thin, the Ni version is better than waves IMHO.

Uad is smooth, thick and very warm sounding(pleasent to the hear).

My vote for Waves would be the API 2500 and API 560a. I haven't tried the Uad API stuff yet, but I hear its also better.

In no particular order:

Rverb - Not the nicest ITB reverb, but I wouldn't say it's terrible.

Aphex Vintage Exciter - It comes in handy on certain sounds, but I much prefer the SPL Vitalizer MK2-T for synths.

J37 - Only had it a day, but I'm completely in love with it, already!

CLA76 - One of my go to Compressors for certain sounds, mainly synths.

SSL Comp - Probably going to get mauled for saying this, but I always have it on my master buss.
