Software Abby Road Plugins Discontinued as of October 2013

Not sure if this belongs here, but I happened to stumble upon this when I went to download them for a new PC installation. You can still download the plugs from a link on this web page (below). Looks like Softube is taking over the Brilliance Pack which they coded in the first place.

I don't understand when something like this happens why companies are not making a huge sale, offering their soon to be discontinued plugins for like a 1/5 or a 1/4 of the price ( of course by advertising that they are going to be discontinued and that no support will be offered )

I would've snag them for 20$-30$ no doubt....

Not at all, the only bad here is on AR's part.

They didn't even send me the email.

I guess maybe you had to have inquired at some point.

I will surely miss the TG Limiter in Pro Tools 11. It was killer on room mics, worked great on vocals too. :(

True, since I have that.

But, I also have the RS124.

I'm glad I never got the others.

They didn't send me an e-mail either. I just happened to go to their website to download for installation on a new machine and there it was....

Sounds like AR maybe did a bunch of bad licensing deals with their developers and isn't making enough money from these to make it worth their while. I'm sure any algorithm can be brought up to spec, but it takes time + cash. Obviously it's not as simple as handing over the code to a new developer, either, hence my "bad deal" theory.
