This is probably more of a DAW forum, but here goes anyway.
I bought a new flat screen monitor to run my Optifile Tetra automation. The new monitor is 15 pin the Optifile is 9 pin. I tried an adaptor, but that doesn't work.
Does anyone know of an adaptor, or a place that can make a custom cable. I have the speck in the Optifile manual.
The video output of the optofile is analog RGB W/external sync. The problem is it is PAL video standard which is 50 Hz. vertical sync, not the
US/Japanese NTSC standard of 60 Hz. Most VGA and SVGA monitors don't go down to 50 Hz. vertical sync. Check the monitor specs and try to find
one that can go that low, otherwise you need to find a multistandard
commercial video monitor that can lock to PAL and NTSC formats.
(these can be expensive if purchased new !!)
Good luck,

PS, do you know of anyone with the tetra utility software ? I'm installing
a system on an old SSL and this unit doesn"t have the utility software
in the E-PROM
Thanks for the info. I posted this in 2002. I've got a Sony PVM now that works. I'm sorry I don't know anyone with the software, but you might want to get a hold of Eric Boyer at Blue mics (I think he posts as bluemic here). He was having Optifile problems a while back and he may have unearthed something.
