MacBook Pro peeps...tell me a story

Anybody want to share their positive or negative experiences with PTLE & or Nuendo and a MacBook Pro(Mac OS & XP invited)

Just about to pull the trigger but really I'd rather spend the cash on an instrument.

Well... if you use a lot of plugs, keep in mind that obviously not everything is intel-mac compliant just yet...

Excusing your Blue Apple...there is the XP side which seems to be handling Nuendo at the moment.

Actually, the MacBook does have a fan, but I'd been using it for about a month before finding out. It had been sitting in my car in the Tucson heat when I pulled it out and booted it up. After running for a few minutes, I heard it kick on as it started to exhaust heat via the vent in the screen hinge. Outside of that one instance, it's never run.

That freekin' thing runs hot!

I bought my dad one, and I've come to the conclusion after using it a bit that it's not as fast as my dual 2 Gig G5 with six gigs of RAM. It's fast, but even under non-audio task strain, it sweats long before my G5 would.

But it's a good computer.

I just got a MBP 17", its all great, except....

I suffered the dreaded "stuck cd in the drive" stoping it from booting.

10 minutes surfing (on my PC) found this
http://silvermac.com/blog/2006/dvd-s...n-macbook-pro/

that worked fine.

i love mine. presently sitting in a cafe in portugal, on vacation but also composing a new filmscore with only my macbookpro and little usb keyboard and my logic dongle!
it runs hotter than hell! i recommend the iLap from iRain. works a charm.
i had an unfortunate problem with the airport card. had to send the laptop in, get a doa statement and then finally got my new book.
it is a stunningly fast and sexy machine.

cheers, w
