I haven't used all of these, so I won't vote. But PT LE will get my thumbs up for its sheer simplicity.

Note: You left out Digital Performer and Logic for our mac users.

I have Nuendo and it does what I need (and could even do more...). Really quick editing when you know your key shortcuts.
Never made friends with PT and Logic.

Uh... and Logic is chopped liver? I have an HD system, Performer, and Roland VS-2480, but would vote for Logic.

I haven't used most of them so I'm staying out. But lurking. (Well, I guess I'm not lurking, now.)

One extremely minor point, Sonar 5 Studio and Sonar Pro both have the same mix engine (and both, also -- separate issue -- come with versions compiled for running in XP64).

My very unslutty answer is:

Who cares!! Use what you got and rock the crap out of it!!!!!

EDIT:

I should add that I checked out the awesum DAW sum CD and I never picked logic as a favorite or even a top. Always pro-tools or nuendo or one of the digital consoles. (Can't remember what one.) I use Pro-Tools by the way, so I was a bit relieved that I liked that one.

hmmmm Not even sure now if summng is the same as mix engine? If it is then this has been discussed to death.

Paris Lives!

I'm not sure how many people realize how good the late-great Paris mix engine sounds. This product was abandoned by Emu-Ensoniq (Creative Labs) 4 years ago and still has a very enthusiastic pro user community. The original converters and DSP PCI cards developed in 1996 still kick butt at 48kHz 24 bit.

Vote for Logic for MIDI arrangements.
Vote for Pro Tools for Post editing and mixing.

Would vote PT all the way if its MIDI would be A LOT better.
All combined, must say too, Logic, absolutely. Been working on Cubase stuff, Logic and PT. Disadvantage of Steinberg stuff is they're incompatible with TDM hardware...

And PT HD still is the one and only system with such low latency and technical innovation.

This poll and question is not going to be a realistic or even fair compairison because Digidesign has spent years brainwashing and monopolizing the DAW industy to the point of almost being a cult. C'mon, giving away free "instructional" videos and DVD's that have these really wacked out dudes in them, hanging out in some really funky looking beach house resort kind of place that is really a set in some hollywood studio basically hyping up the gear and telling you how amazingly fun and easy it is going to be to make hit records with your new friend "digi". I remember that digi001 brain wash video well. The one where the over exhuberent fat guy gives the pet name "digi" to the plastic blue peice of crap in the intoduction. The digi001 interface that ruined the sound of demos across the world for about 5 years.

Anyone that hasn't used a Radar machine or Samplitude with an analog console is a fan of the Digi HD system. Gee, I wonder why?

I have PT & Logic Pro and Logic gets my vote, too. However, I also agree with the "use what ya got" argument. To each their own.
