i used to read eq magazine.....their "reviews" are just marketing.

has anyone EVER seen them say a piece of gear sucks?

its always "this would be a great asset in anyone's studio" or "we'd have a hard time finding a better unit at this price range"

but that said, i just went and signed up for a subscription. heh i still like reading about gear. future music is also a good mag.

edit: if anyone wants to read the review:

These music tech type magazines are just a version of porn imo.

I have stopped getting them cause it makes me think I want stuff I don't need cause of their ever-optimistic reviews.

Still, its the way of the capitalist society so why am I even saying this.

LOL tell me about it. heh i had a sub to EQ mag from 98 to 04. every time i got the new issue i would be in bed reading it and my girlfriend would think i'm a dork.

btw....she's gone and the magazines are still here. so now i know who still loves me.

Glenn,

You mention something on mastering written by Bob Katz ... I bought the SSL Native Collection as a download and, TTBOMK, no such article came with the .pdf manuals.

Am I missing something?

I own his excellent book, but I am interested if there is anything that applies specifically to the plugins.

It should be with the pdf manuals. Actually it is buried in it. It is bascially part of the article that Bob wrote which is included with the TC Finalizer. If you have his book, your not missing anything.
