Good idea but to make it even more fun (for Steve I mean) I think it's even time to talk about... a group buy!

I'd rather get discounts on stuff that isn't completely affordable.

interesting

is it double-precision? does the output ceiling have any control beyond visual "knob" position? (ie: can you get it to -0.3)

Also, having it display the maximum amount that it has limited in a song (peak hold or whatever) would be very helpful.

An AU version of the Massey plugs would be great.

The price is extremely reasonable, it's kind of at group buy rates to start with.

Excellent point. My initial reaction was that using "mastering" in the name might encourage noobs to think they're mastering. As you point out, the lack of precision visual feedback & control emphasizes my reservations. Even if this is "mastering-grade", perhaps a better name would be "Final Limiter"? Don't forget to add the precision, too.

I have to admit that I bought the plugins just off the incredible good responses said here.
Sorry Steve, I haven't gotten a chance to mix with them yet. I just moved to AZ and we are just getting things together in the new house. I can't wait to sit down with your plugins and try them out.
Yes, it does look like he put's a whole lot of time into these plugins just, by the look of them.
Everybody that has tried them has said great things about them.
I didn't buy the EQ though, as I have enough EQ's. But put my down as one of the buyers for the Mastering Limiter.
Does anyone have the old version of his HF plugin? I didn't get a chance to ever check that one out.

Hey All,

This is still a work in progress, so the GUI, name, and features will probably change a little when it's finally released. But, I hope to release it as soon as possible.

Here's a little description of the Modes. Basically, they alter the behavior of the envelope detector. There's a complex set of parameters that go into the algorithm & this setting packages them up into an easy-to-use control.

Loud: This is the most straightforward setting and sounds virtually identical to the "industry-standard" limiter -- But, I won't name names

Mellow: Mellow has the same dynamics characteristics as Loud, but reduces some of the gritty midrange to high-end distortion. The compromise is less perceived loudness.

Smooth: This mode has an altogether different dynamics characteristics than Loud or Mellow, and tends to round off the high-end when pushed harder. This mode should have even less distortion on most material, but will have more pumping-&-breathing artifacts.

Vibrant: This mode is more reactive to the mid-range and has an overall different feel and distortion characteristics than the other modes.

Back to work!,
Steve

Cool.

Though knobs look cooler, sliders for the threshold and output ceiling might be be a little more useful, well whatever so long as it's easy to fine-tune settings very precisely (to easily get the output ceiling to .03 for example).

If there is an extreme difference between the Mellow and Loud settings, a setting in between them might be useful, so one could get something a little less distorted than Lx but not too much more if that makes sense...

Anyway, no rush on this one, take the time to get it right I say!

Hi Steve,
Maybe for you next plug you should do an FXpansion style wrapper that lets TDM plugs be used in VST. That way every other post won't be someone bitching about how your plugs aren't VST. Jeez, with the hundreds of freeware VST plugs out there, you'd think they would be happy...

How did I miss these plguins - I'm a TDM plugin junky?!

Anyway I just found them and am extremely impressed. Great to see a smaller developer focusing on TDM, when too many others seem afraid to go there. I know everybody raves about native taking over, but since I went PT HD, I never buy native plugins anymore.

Keep up the great work Steve.

ANother great plug from Steve.

You really rock.

For those of you asking for au/Vst and such, If you read Steve´s homepage, you`ll see he has work experience in Digidesign. Not in Apple, not in Steinberg. Maybee that`s why he`s only making PT plugs?

I think it`s`a good thing for him to stick with the system he knows and make good quality plugs. Besides, you VST guys get so much more to choose from than us RTAS guys anyways.
