I know you are gonna laugh at me, but since I'm new to engineering, I like the idea of tweaking presets till I know what I'm looking for and how to get it.
URS seems to be the best comp/eq combo for most on here.
No deal on the EQ's. I think it's kinda funny when EQ's come with presets, except for a few like the Elemental ones (RIP) that came with presets for comb filtering fake stereo and for cutting 60hz and 50hz hum etc.
When you try the presets with stuff like UAD eq's, they're way off. Like how can they know what you're starting with?
Somewhere there's a Pro Tools plugin preset library, and I think it's also funny when there's a preset for something like an LA2A plugin, which is mostly based on the input level of the signal.
