MOTU DP5 and Rosetta 800 w/x-firewire card

Is anyone using this configuration...

Mac powerbook
Digital Performer 4.5 through 5
Apogee Rosetta 800 w/X-firewire card

My understanding is that it is possible to interface via firewire.
Would like to read comments from users on:
Ease of use.
reliability.
overal sound and performance.

I'm on a G5 Dual 1.8 with DP5 and Rosetta 800 (192k) and everything works flawlessly via firewire card and sounds amazing! For low latency monitoring, you'll have to download Apogee's FireMix software from their website.

Nice!
So just to be clear....the firewire card from the Rosetta right into the firewire port on the Mac right?
My interest would be to run DP on a laptop. No PCI slots.

Yup!!!! it's as easy as that. The best part is that the Rosetta is Core Audio compiant, so there's no extra software to install in order to be recognised by DP!

Looks like the first thing I need to do is upgrade from DP 4.x to 5.
Next a hard look at the Rosetta vs the AD16x.
Thanks.
