ADAT Expansion for Focusrite Saffire Pro 24?

I have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 and I need to expand beyond the 4 analog inputs they provide out of the box. So I think I need an ADAT box like their OctoPre MKII to give me additional inputs, right?

Is there a less expensive option than the OctoPre that will work well with the Saffire Pro 24? I could live with 8 more inputs at this point...

Any suggestions?

yes you need a pre amp with ADAT output.. I think the only cheaper option than an octopre is probably a behringer ada8000.

the ada8000 is actually pretty legit. clean, quiet. I've had a great experience with it!

Another adat unit is a presonus digimax. I have a a digimax fs which has lots of ins and outs, and some decent pres too. You can pick them up used for under $400.
