Waves SSL Bus Comp - do you hpf sidechain?

For people that use the Waves SSL buss comp, on the stereo master buss do you ever use a hpf and send that to the master to cut some lows from the comp?

Or do you just slap it on the master buss and go to work?

Thanks!

Either one. If the comp's responding to the bass too much and I'm losing it, I'll def hi-pass with the sidechain.

Definitely high pass filter if it's on the drum or 2 buss.

No high pass. I mix into it from the start and make my adjustments accordingly.

very easy with Reaper.

1. Make Track 4 channel if stereo( via I/O button)
2. on top, insert eq
3. insert SSL comp (stereo)
4.Open eq:s channel config, let 1->Vst in 1 2->Vst in 2
Vst out 1->3 Vst out 2->4

5. Open SSL Comp:s channel config, let 1->main in L 2->main in R
3->sc in L 4->sc in R
main out L->1 main out->2
leave ->3 ->4 out unconnected

if youre on mac here is a template..maybe it works on PC aswell..?
