Native?

Ok, so ive heard alot of talk about "native." I also just seen a waves pluggin that said you could buy it in TDM or Native. Anyone care to post a link explaining, or explain it to me?

Native means you are using your computers processing power to process the plugin. If you just go out and buy pro tools for your computer and run it off of the processor built in. You're plugin count and resources are limited to your comp. TDM refers to using pro tools HD's dedicated cards that allow you to have a ton of power.

If you are a beginner, you'll most likely be using native.

So is that only a Pro Tools term? Or am I still running "Native" on logic?

And MUST YOU HAVE an HD system? or are their non HD interfaces that would be doing the same.
