Adding an A/D...Running SSL Madixtreme & RME HDSPe Simultaneously?

hey guys and gals,

Looking for a little help here...

I need to add a dedicated AD for printing mixes back into PT.

Right now I'm running Mac Pro--->Alpha Link AX---->SSL X-Desk---->back into said Alpha Link---->Mac Pro...all using the Madixtreme 64.

I would like to bring a Burl B2 AD or Lynx Hilo into the picture, but Im not sure of the best way possible.

Should I just buy a RME HDSPe AES card and run them both thru PT Aggregate? Will that work? Can I run the lynx hilo ADAT output into a SSL adat input? if I had the Alpha link SX...I imagine this would be a little easier

I would like to keep the current setup I have and just add to it.

Is there some simple option that's staring right at me that im just missing?!?!

thanks!

Lives for gear

I tried it and it didn't work very well.
Occasionally the cards would somehow loose sync an generate digital distortion.

Wether the issue was in core audio or with the drivers conflicting I never was able to figure out.
Multiple cards of same type works ok though so I'm guessing driver conflicts.
But it was about a year ago so things mitt have changed now.

You can hook up the HILO directily to an ADAT port of the Alpha Link and stream it back over MADI. No need for a 2nd card.

If you want to use the Burl, you could swap the AX for an SX and hook it up using AES3.

Thanks so much, I figured those might be my options. I'll probably just demo the HILO when it starts shipping.

If I dont like it I could always trade up for the SX I suppose.
