Question about sample rate in samplers and IRs

Imagine I'm working on a96/24 session, what happens when I load a Kontakt library recorded in 44.1/24? What happens if I use a 44.1/16 Impulse Response?

I don't know if I'm deaf or the DAW adjusts the sample rate/bit depth automatically, BECAUSE I DON'T NOTICE ANYTHING.

those programs have internal src. this is why I like higher than 24/44 resolution samples when ever I can.

If you're using something like Kontakt which is a sample player, its highly likely a lot of those notes you play play those particular samples at a sample rate other than its original rate anyways, so in that respect the DAW's project sample rate isn't as relevant.

If it starts sounding like chipmunks, then the sampler is broken, as Kontakt should adjust for any DAW sample rate accordingly.

in Kontakt for example, this allows all other 'synthesis' to occur at a higher rate. So using lower resolution samples at a higher frequency will improve quality all around , because of any filter, fader, envelope, effect that can scale to higher sample rates will be improved.
