Henry was a great 3rd party developer, and still the only to do 192Khz Nebula libraries, and then he blessed us all with his massive amount of work work....... for free.

TimP Surge for sure!

---
TimP has some Pultecs too, EQP1 and MEQ5. But for Pultecs there is Purple, which is an Acqua plugin (different, but better workflow).

the quality of Surge is amazing

so same here
TimP surge on vox for sure
and its a superb master eq too

if you are looking for great vox comps
TimP sum100a and vari level are great as well,
TimP really know how to make nebula3 comps compress

both Alex B POOLTeQ and TimP Dual tech
pultecs are very good sounding

I think the STN reverbs sound great. To each his own, I guess.

What reverb do you think sounds better?

quite outdated?

Tim P's Dualtech is seriously underrated! There's not much talk of it on the forums. The other Pultec emulations get a lot of comment, but Dualtech is actually a great EQ, along with Tim's Mid range EQ, it a fantastic sounding combo. I think Tim pioneered/discovered some of his more refined techniques whilst developing Dualtech, which he is using on everything since.

I totally agree. I tried Purple and AlexB one, but Dualtech is the magical one to me.

Thanks i didnt realise Dualtech was Pultec. Have you compared Surge to RD State yet? I've got that on the MB and it's excellent. Need to try Surge still.

Are there any dynamic EQ libraries for Nebula?

Today I had a strong Nebula "moment". Was fighting with a rather harsh sounding vocals and mix. tried tapes, saturation with no success. Then I decided to explore Henry's library. Went to OUT section and put on RDN Portico 5034 Curve with NO Eq setting.....and it just blew my mind. The mix smoothed out, became warmer, fuller and harshness was gone. I mean the effect was really like night and day. Pretty surprised. Never used the original/ also not sure what model Henry sampled/ so I don't know if an Eq with flat setting can sweeten the source so much. I wonder if this is a stereo pair sampled here. Might end up putting a whole album through this on last insert.
Anyone had experiences with this Portico presets ? is it possible that it truly is No EQ setting ?
Damn it sounds good.

I dont think so but you can find then in Accua plugin like Pink and titanium. Also you can route the eq or filter to the compressor side chain in Sand and Lime.

if you mean just a dynamic eq then no

but if you use an ago for this first in the chain before inserting nebula or acqua
it works like a charm for me

You could begin with the trials and see if they work for you. The multiband pink have some options I never see in any compressor in the earth.

Thinking about buying Nebula4 just for the sheer amount of exploration it provides.

Downloaded the Henry O AYCE bundle for starters. Thanks Henry.

Is it worth it to download the included Nebula programs? I've heard Will and some others say to bypass these. Anything new in the N4 downloads I should look forward to?

you should definitely grab the new violet compressor (phoenix) and the yroy compressor libs (a collection of just the compression curves without the circuit coloration, but great stuff in there and you can team those up with HO mojos...)

Thanks Lubomba.

I see 2 setups for the VST.

A Setup N4 Win VST2 1.0.016.0 rel K (Experimental Settings On)

B Setup N4 Win VST2 1.0.016.0 rel K

Anyone can shed light on differences. I assume I just want the B regular install. Is that correct?

i think i would avoid the experimental version
so B should be the right one for regular nebula duties

So, are we just copying the program and vector files into the corresponding folders in the repository? Sorry if these seem like obvious questions.

Damn it sounds good.

I'e noticed that with Tim Pet and Cupwise's eq's but not actually using the eq. Literally just having it inserted somewhere which is why i set up a couple of pre master busses just for that kind of pass through effect. Bit crushers like the toneboosters one and the d12 decimort do quite a good job at that aswell for less of of cpu hit but they dont give you that OTB flavour Nebula does. I def need to try that Portico now you said that
