Which External Drive Should I Get??

I'm cloning my internal harddrive on my Mac Pro to an external FW drive so I can take it with me for a session overseas and not bring my Mac Pro.

What harddrive would you guys recommend me to get for this?

Please advise!

Thanks

They have a great selection, with quality components, and great prices.

As long as what is inside the external enclosure is a Hitachi drive, I do not care much about the rest.

Personal experience and preference aside, the technology these days is so reliable, pretty much any external enclosure with any hard drive brand inside it will work. You may shop around for features such as a variety of port formats (mine has FW400, FW800, SATA, and USB, so I can plug it into really anything), bundled software, extended warranty, encryption, built-in cooling fan, shock resistant drive mounts...

If you're going to China, it really doesn't matter what brand you buy since the government is going to erase it anyway, if they don't just outright confiscate it.

You might want to check the laws of whatever country you are going to...

You can get a 2TB Seagate USB 2.0 drive for $90 at WalMart even... Storage is only getting cheaper!
