Is Logic not even using my full 12GB RAM?

Latest version of Logic Express. 3 gigahertz duocore processor in a 2010 iMac. 12 gigs ram upgraded from 4. Logic seems to not care about the extra ram. or if it does I'm not noticing. maybe it's slightly better. Is Logic not addressing the amount of ram I now have? Is there a mod to some software setting somewhere I can tweak to make Logic use more of the ram I'm trying to give it?

Or do I just need a multicore Mac Pro for more performance?

You can be honest, and feel free to bash on apple, or praise them or whatever, I'm just soliciting opinions and experience, as per usual. I know there was an issue last month or something with logic not recognizing six-core processors correctly but I think that's been fixed.
