LynxOne

Hi. I'm choosing a sound card to upgrade from audiophile 2496. Is it worth to buy LynxOne? Is it too outdated, compared to the newest converters (I'm also considering Emu 1212m)? I don't need more than 2 inputs and also the drivers don't bother me (the pc i'm using for recording is dated with win xp ). I just need good AD. I know Lynx has very good reputation, but is it LynxOne the best buy for my tiny budget?

I was going to get an L22 card but, I have to look at the long term. How long will the motherboard manufacturers keep the PCI socket on their boards as an option before they abandon it totally?

I'm using an EMU 1212M card which has a PCI connector soon to be replaced with a Lynx AES16e PCI-E card. The thing is; if you plan to upgrade to a new computer in the future, will the PC motherboard manufacturers still have the PCI connector fitted as an option.

Not telling you not to go for the LynxONE but personally; if I'm going by a sound card, its got to have a PCI-E connector.
