Dell + FW expresscard?

I'm looking to put together a modest mobile rig consisting of an i5 Dell Inspiron and an m-audio 2626. I don't plan on doing any mixing on it - I'll copy the raw wavs to my desktop.

I'm currently using an old 2005 Asus laptop which has worked well tracking 8 inputs, but with the 40GB Hd and rather puny cpu, it's close to the end.

The modern laptops don't seem to include firewire, so I'll be looking at an expresscard. I guess a TI chipset would be mandatory. Any other experiences with Dell + Expresscards...? Horror stories or good times?

i would recommend an expresscard by Siig. I use one with a Mac laptop. Its PC/Mac compatible. They use Texas Instruments firewire chipsets cause their more expensive then most other cards.
