Slowing a song down

New to PT or actually returning to it after 7 years because I want to use the time stretch features.

My song is tracked live and the performance is too fast. I don't mind taking the time to stretch each track because I'd rather mix feeling the slower vibe. I get the gist of how to use elastic audio but there are so many features/options.

Anybody have any quick suggestions, tips/warnings about this before I get started?

What I've done is mix at the faster tempo, then timestretch the final mix with the best pitch stretch that I have. Worked surprisingly well. Do a quick rough and try it before you invest too much time.

Slowing a song down

Set the tempo of your original tracks. Now initiate elastic audio on all your tracks. Do poly for poly tracks. Mono for bass. Rhythmic for drums.

Change all the tracks from samples to ticks.

Then change the bpm of the session. Everything will speed up or slow down accordingly.

This sounds much better than using something like the tce tool.

If for some reason the elastic audio sounds weird on a track or two, use the xform algorithm. Takes awhile to render but sounds great. Or do that for all the tracks just go watch an episode of Law and Order in the meantime.

change to ticks and use x-form. (get new bpm in poly because it faster then change to x-form for best quality)
