PT9 I/O not showing ADAT outs? Audio Interfaces

Alright... I finally figured it out.

In PT9 when s/pdif is checked in the playback engine the the default window in the I/O set-up will only show the 8 analog (I/O respectfully) and s/pdif. When Optical is selected for the playback engine then all 18 I/O's show up (8 analog, 8 ADAT, 2 s/pdif). Still I had to figured this out by loading in an old project that had all these setting for the I/O the way I needed them and then had to figure how to get the greyed out items to show up.

Also where they show up on the I/O "graph" is different from the 002R box, hence why I could trick the system to output both digital signal paths but the outputs got reversed!

Now how I got the firewire connection to show a 002 while being hooked up to an 003 I'll never really know. Maybe because the drivers for both the 002 and 003 are the same and somehow when I scrambled the outputs it "saw it" as an 002 system... who knows. I am not about to try and repeat that as I think that is what caused all the clocking issues as well.

I've been working with these "confusers" long enough to know that the solution to the the problem is only one or two clicks away to correcting the problem... trick is finding out what to "click" on!

Thanks again everybody for your help.

Congrats Larry. I know how frustrating this stuff is. I had a similar issue last week when only 3/4 of my inputs were showing up on the channel but all were in the setup i/o box. Took me ages to figure it out!

And it really shouldn't be this way... they should have a little dialog box that pops up and tells you what to do. At least, as in my case, it should be described in the manual!

My prediction was correct!! Go out have a drink, enjoy the party and start again. Works err time. As I mentioned the key was to get it all up, then SAVE IT and NAME IT. IMPORT IT when you start another session, and uncheck use last I/O setup. Happy you're up and running. Enjoy and change your interface,.........SOON!!! LOL.heh
