Whats your ultimate ITB DAW for Christmas

If you could throw caution and someone else's Visa card to the wind, what would your ultimate DAW computer look like. Forget outboard gear, this is all about what fits in the box.

Cheers and Merry Christmas.

I've actually been looking at the Prism DAW for live recording. You can buy their computer which is basically only the DAW. Then I would drop the files into my HD3 rig.

I'm pretty happy with my old machine. It is no big deal today, but it was hot stuff when I built it. But I would love to exchange my three 19 inch monitors for a single in the 37-42 inch range.

great machine there
looking to build something like this(soon)
i7 8core

(2) 1TB gig 10K RPM hard drives

12 gigs of RAM

nice cooler (to keep everything nice and low heat)

low noise fan

decent HD video card with two HDMI outputs (whatever lol)
two 32" LCD tv's
(probably would just go with one when I do get this setup, but for a christmas wish list TWO)

Windows 7

want to run Komplete 7 and plenty of vocal tracks.. itb compressors, eqs without any hiccups and without having to upgrade for a while(two years at least)

I know there's always newer faster machines just looking to build something like listed above
that is
1.stable
2.can run komplete 7 (many instances)
3.can handle a nice vsti fx bundle (compressors,eq,etc..)
4.can handle a heavy tracked recording/mixing session

My current dream is a i7 980x 12 core with at least 12 GB ram (can't find the strike out for "mb")

The 980X actually has latency so I might move down a processor or two - they didn't give it enough cache

2 SSD drives - one for os and DAW software and one for active projects.

Noctua 6 dB fans - big cooler

Asus or Intel 58X mobo with capacity for new faster drives

Fast video card without a fan.

....... .
MONSTER! Seriously if you want to work in a DAW the difference between megabytes and gigabytes is significant. Small details, and HUGE differences!

Be modern: Mac Pro + Presonus Studio One Pro

MacPro

Just priced one of the 12 core babies - $13 grand. Same thing with Win 7 - about $7 K - that's two channels of quality mastering compression.

Presonus - argh - nice brochures but support from Hell. Can't even get help with a $400 Faderport.

Not high end gear. Lynx came on line and fixed my Aurora 16 this month on first call. Pay good money and expect good support.

Cheers, sp

I need 2 more ProTools HD rigs. Both with an 7-card expansion chassis, 96 in and out, and a full set of Genex, Pacific Microsonics, and Wiess converters, ready to patch in.

Each should have a UAD-2 card, completely loaded up, as well as the full slate of Sonox, Waves, Altiverb, etc.. plugins ready to go. Satellite links, of course.

Clocking must be Antelope Rubidium.

Thank you in advance, Santa Claus!

I'm tired of my clients paying more to the rental companies for 2 more rigs (as playback and prelay rigs using mine for recording) than they want to pay for the time in my studio to do their mixes!
