simultaneous firewire interfaces

I believe I read somewhere that from MacOSX 10.4.3 and Logic 7.1 onwards it is possible to have more than one firewire interface functioning. Specifically, is it possible to hook up 2 M-audio 1814's and have them working simultaneously?

Bob.

From Tiger and upwards, it's possible to use more than one audio interface, not solely firewire, it could also be a firewire+pci interface. So what you're suggesting will most likely work fine.

Thanks Geert! Would you happen to have a reference to that information?

Look for "Device Aggregation".

I have tried this with Digital Performer and that worked great, but that's different because Digital Performer could already do this in Panther.

However using different interfaces together with just Tiger works fine, so I guess there should be no reason that it wouldn't work with the latest version of Logic.

Apple says Logic integrates with Core Audio here. I have no reason to doubt this.
