GUIDE: ReBirth RB-338 on Windows Vista and Windows 7 32- and 64-bit systems
Propellerheads released the infamous ReBirth RB-338 for free a few years ago. However, they no longer support the software and it can be difficult to get it up and running on anything other than Windows 98...
Luckily for you, I wrote a guide for anyone interested in getting ReBirth up and running on newer Windows systems.
i got COMODO, AVAST mad all over the screen - malware, .bat files, virus detection, asking me to install 2 different search toolbars, hijack homepage, trying to connect to remote webpages...
EDIT: OK MY FAULT ENTIRELLY... i just wasnt expecting the classic download wizard scumbag... dont click on the first link but on the underlined dark blue line saying Click here to start download from sendspace and you should get a ZIP file "ReBirth RB-338 2.0.1 Installer.zip"
btw. the specific files you are looking for to update WinHlp32 are:
Don't apologize - I got the SAME **** from this guy linking to Sendspace.com ... and I usually fly without protection ... managed to manually get PC Optimizer Pro aka "bend over so I can ram you from behind ... Pro" off my puter - and all else seems find, but if a root kit made its way on, I'll probably never know. I usually do a full wipe once every year or two regardless, but this link is SHADY.
Has anybody been able to connect Rebirth to Reason? I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 and I have Reason 6.5 and Reason doesn't recognise Rebirth. If I add a Rebirth Input Machine I get the error "ReBirth not found / Could not load ReBirth Engine. / Make sure ReBirth is properly installed."
I have tried installing the 32-bit version of Reason (by running the installer with the /32 parameter) to no avail.
edit: to answer my own question, there is a .reg file in the Rebirth directory which configures Rewire. After installing that, 32-bit reason recognises ReBirth.
