Stand alone midi port routing software for Mac?

Are there any programs for OsX that will route midi signals from in ports to out ports? I wanted to do a star configuration so i can have individual control of my hardware when i am working in my DAW but if i want to jam i could route my midi controller directly to hardware instruments without having to plug directly into them or get a hardware midi router. Thanks

I don´t understand exactly what you mean, but OS X has very good built in MIDI settings. You can create virtual MIDI ports for example. You will find it in "Sound and MIDI settings"( program/Utilities )

that's not what i mean, i mean routing midi signals. Audio/Midi setup is only for a layout so that your computer knows what u have attached to the ports but it does not route any signals. IAC is for routing midi between programs, not hardware

Yes, but if you are using Logic ? You can just set up a default song with your "JAM" MIDI routings using the environment window.

You can use iac to route between hardware midi ports.

Plogue Bidule is a very easy program to use for this. Also makes a nice host for virtual instruments.

I used this program to route some simple usb midi-less midi keyboards to some sound modules hooked up to a heinous looking midiman 8x8 i found in the trash. works well. I wish I could figure out how to do it in Audio-Midi setup but it wont let me route usb midi signals to the interface. Nice workaround for dawless jamming.
