I'm curious about the RTAS version.

Could you guys give an approx. release date ?

I mean, are we talking days, weeks, months ?

Thanks

Hi All,

I downloaded the demo and am suitably impressed. I am not a pro engineer and have never owned or used a 480L, but there was an instant lushness to the effect that I recognized from many records I love. Also it just sounded cool the more I played with it.

The interface and some of the parameters are new to me, as my primary verbs before this were Altiverb, UAD EMT 250, Eos and (to my surprise) Space Master. So I have some questions:

--I am wondering if there are good online tutorials for getting the most out of your Lexicon 480, as I assume they would equally apply to the Relab plug. I have in mind stuff like this: Lexicon 480L , in particular I am interested in less realistic effects (I liked the 2C Audio Aether demo but is seemed a little 1-trickish to my ears). I already downloaded the owners manual from Lexicon (how nice of them to keep them online).

--Also, what is the plan in terms of presets? Will we get the same presets the original unit shipped with, a different set, or just a handful to get us started? I know the Lite version is Random Hall only and the rest of the algorithms will come with the full version, but the preset part isn't clear to me.

If this is covered somewhere in the thread, I didn't see it, but then I may not have read all 50-odd pages carefully.

Thank you!

So, it looks like the beta for the LX480 Lite is coming to an end now... Pretty much all ilok authorizations will be expiring on Sunday. And, rather than wait until all authorizations expire, I'm giving everyone this heads up.

Anyone who still has not tried the beta, please email me ASAP in order to try the beta before it expires. I'm sure we will have demo licenses at some point, but I don't know when we will be getting them. And, beta licenses for LITE will not be extended this time around.

Tony,
I bought the lite version from you and have authorized it. Will there be a preset bank that I can import (beyond the one's you created) at some point soon?

Thanks,
-Frank

Yes, you can expect more presets around the time, or shortly after, this upcoming update that Martin was speaking about earlier today.

You're looking for the original 480 presets, right?

Yep! Will you notify us via email about this update or should I just keep checking back here?

Yes... all registered "owners" (like yourself). I'm keeping track of everyone who purchases the LITE version, and they will get the updates/ presets via email.

For those looking for presets... Here is one from the original 480 that I believe may have been posted earlier...

This is the Large Rhall + Stage preset from Martin.

If you set the delays to zero, this gives you the Large RHall from the 480L, as well.

Wrapped? I thought wrapped plug-ins didn't report latency???

Nah, I just looked to see if your other posts were columned.

One of the first ones I came to was the one I quoted.

Interesting poll results... a model can be liked better than an original... with these particular samples, anyway.

I finally gained up the noise in both I/O modes: digital is "digital" sounding hash with a DC offset. Analog adds noise and filters the offset, though it does take a couple hundred milliseconds to settle.

Also, the noise seems to be constant and doesn't decrease as the mix is shifted to "dry."
