Perfect will be at some point after the 23rd. Just trying to help give some kind of timeline.... Anyway, carry on.

This would only happen if the plugin sounded like crap; It won't.

There are two philosophies (guess which one I subscribe to)

A. Bring out buggy software with crappy sonics to meet an artificial schedule.

B. Work as a craftsman to bring out the best possible result.

All the rest is just marketing finesse or the lack thereof.

Smile Introducing the Relab LX480...

Here's an update on the "mystery" plugin:

Quote:
Introducing the Relab LX480 Dual Engine Reverb...

The Relab LX480 Dual Engine Reverb is an emulation of the famous V4.1 "480L" reverb. It features 5 different algorithms based on those of the classic unit. Dual engine capabilities allow for 2 different algorithms to be loaded into a single instance of the plugin for added flexibility and creative purposes. A painstaking modeling process includes emulations of not only the algorithms, but also the A/D and D/A conversion, as well as the different operation modes of the original (44.1k and 48k). An added bonus of the Relab LX480 is special enhanced versions of the legendary classics.

A public beta release for this highly anticipated plugin is planned for April for all popular native formats, at which point everyone will be able to experience this ground breaking product.
So... it's no longer a mystery at all... It's the Relab LX480..

Attached you will find a jpeg of the LX480's added "setup page"... You'll notice the Dual Engine functionality/ routing of the reverb as well as the choice of Analog I/O emulation, etc. The painstaking modeling of the A/D and D/A conversion and the addition of these other new features has contributed to the delay in the release. We are confident that everyone will be happy that these were added, as these additional features and functionality were worth the wait.

Also, for those who have yet to receive the email, it should come through soon... Only about half the people who signed up have received it, as my ISP shut me off from sending the rest. Much of the info in the email is contained in this post (except for some additional beta details). Will send out to the rest as soon as possible, but in the meantime I am posting it here for all to see.

The original 480L had limit cpu resources and David had to make some compromises in the algorithms. The enhanced versions are 'what would have happened if the 480L had much more power' algorithms. The enhanced versions uses 2-3 times more cpu power than the originals.

Thanks for these informations heh

But the price range?
I really would like to know if it will be in a price range I can afford!
For example the Lexicon PCM Native Reverb Plugin Bundle is unfortunately for me completely out of my price range.

Mmm, can't wait for the beta, yum! The enhanced version sounds pretty tempting. O.o
And when we are on the subject of the CPU, is it a power-hog or pretty light weight?

And you really did get to use the LARC as a gui? That's pretty amazing.
(Hey, we can't really comment on the sound just yet, so why not discuss the things we do know about it. )
