Will this work or do I need a tower?

Hey Guys,

My main studio is cenetered around two rooms each with protools HD on mac intel towers. I score a lot at the studio but want to do more at home.

I use knotact to control my main libraries - LA Scoring Strings, symphonia, etc. They are pretty demanding libraries. I run protools 8.

So...I have the last generation MacBook pro 17inch with 4 gigs ram.

I was going to get a dual esata card and mount two esata external drives to hold my libraries and samples. Could I get away with this if I have no more than 10 tracks running at anypoint before I bounce? Or should I just buy a new mac pro tower and install tons of ram and drives?

Anyone doing this successfully?

Bought an esata card and a 2TB raid. I'll let you know how it works in case anyone is interested.
