Softube TubeTech CL-1B Compressor plug-in

The TubeTech CL-1B Compressor plug-in, once available only for TDM or TC Electronic PowerCore DSP platforms, is now available as a native plug-in for RTAS, AU and VST formats.

It will be available as of tomorrow and will be available for an extra SPECIAL price for the month of October!

It has some new features over the TDM version, too:

The new CL 1B features the same painstakingly-constructed modeling algorithms as the TDM/PowerCore version. Then Softube doubled up the capabilities and enabled the unit to operate in stereo! (Purists should note that the left and right channels are linked for phase accuracy.) Topping everything off is a new external sidechain input that let’s you trigger the compressor from the selected source audio—just the thing for creating classic effects like locking the bass drum compression to the kick. (Note that RTAS and AU hosts support sidechain inputs; please check your VST host to see if this feature is implemented.)

Come out with something like Oldtimer (pricing) as starters and you'll sell millions...

MAP is $399, but it is significantly cheaper for October (under $300).

NOW we're talking!!!
I never bought it for my Poco as I always thought it was too expensive but that's not a bad price at all!
Will it be available as download or boxed only? If boxed only do you know who sells it in Europe?

Thanks

I personally have a hard time with buying anything DSP based ever again. Native is the future IMO. I had the original Uad -1 and it never worked properly in my G5 at the time. I'm now on a Macpro and I've considered a Uad-2 several times but I just can't bring myself to buy another DSP card. I think the UA and TC plugs sound great but some of the recent native stuff is totally catching up if not surpasing them without the compatibility issues and latency of the DSP cards. Softube, PSP, EMI, and Waves among others have been rocking lately on the native side. I'm excited to check out the CL-1B as have heard some great things about the TDM/powercore versions although its going to have to be really good to make me want to purchase it considering how great the PSP Oldtimer sounds.

If a reliable copy protection system existed, everybody would probably go native. The Duende (hybrid processing) might also be a long living system. For the mean time, some of the best FX (Lexicon, TC Electronic, SSL, UAD, Eventide) aren't going native.

Thanx

Like every other Softube product this will be amazing!

Softube is by far the best brand making plugins. Just get the demo and then you'll be selling all your Waves, UAD, and that kind of boring stuff.
