Cool Stupid Pro Tools question

I have a MIDI track who's output goes to a sound module and record the audio back onto an audio track.
The track is too loud. Do I...

  • A) Lower the volume on the MIDI track?
  • B) Lower the output of the sound module?
  • C) Lower the volume on the audio track?

I NEVER CLAIMED TO BE A SMART GUY!!!

Well, if the audio is clipping on the way in, lower the output of the sound module. If the audio isn't clipping and the track is just too loud in the mix, lower the channel's fader.

Sweet thanks!

(And I might call you about that Aurora 16 in the future... I'm holding off on PT HD for now.)
