Thank-you lllubi! That means a lot after all we put into this one.

I'm also pleased to let you know that we are making very good
progress on our Blu-Ray mastering. It should be done by September.
And if I do say so, it looks really really good ...

I just got my copy of Masters Series 2. It's delievered on the coolest USB drive I've ever seen. I could carry it around in my wallet!

I'm honored to be a small part of this. Tony is really one of the best engineers in the world.

Thanks Michael .. they are pretty cool eh? And once you copy the stuff
off the USB card, you can use it for whatever you want .. a double-bonus ;-)

By the way, a big "thank-you" to Stephen Waters of Warwick, UK for
providing the session file on Cubase 5!..

So that's

Protools (native)
Sonar (OMF)
Logic (OMF)
Cubase (native)

I might do a zero start consolidation for Reaper as well.

Please note that these are not mixed files, just the tracks. However,
I hope to get at least a tentative mix on some of these DAWs (at least
the ones I can get my hands on).

Thanks-again Stephen!

Hi All,
So I made a consolidate audio folder and tried it on GarageBand
and Reaper .. no problems.

So, I think we've got all our bases covered for the raw tracks.

Thanks for everyone who helped us out!

My apologies for not getting the order page updated . we've been finishing up
the Blu-Ray mastering ...

But .. the way we've been handling this is that if you order DVD 1 and DVD 2,
we refund $10 to your Paypal account.

Hopefully I'll get the bundle order pages up in the next day or so.

Jeff,

Where can we access the Cubase 5 Session File the Stephen provided? I've been trying all day to open the OMF file in C5 to no avail.

i watched it recently and was blown away by this DVD. i'm an R&B singer by trade and these tips were great for helping me to improve my songwriting/session demo submissions. thanks tony for the info and jeff for a well produced/laid-out video.

Wow !! .. Thank-you so much!. Can we quote you?

Also, did you watch Shelea's tracking movie?

http://onthemarkmedia.net/dvd2_bonus...a_tracking.mov

It's a little long but I was in awe of her artistry when I was filming it.
IMHO, I think any aspiring R&B or back ground vocalist would get a lot
out of it .. even though it's a little long.

Just finished the DVD. Great Stuff. I did't get the DVD 1 because I thought It might cover alot of stuff that I already knew. Think I will be getting it too......

1. The use of the Harmonizer Technique is worth the money by itself!
2. The use of the Track Master was pretty interesting.
3. The use of "Common" plugs is very useful.
4. Very well explained technigues and excellent explaination of plug in color.
5. Automation techniques explained well and why and when to use it.

Tony to be truthful.......that production was done with some pretty kickass gear! Is a DVD in the making to show how someone with low budget gear can mix and still sound like that? Maybe show techniques of the plugins "working" hard?

Sorta feel like you cheated a little! One of the best bass players, Great Guitarist, Great outboard Gear, Great Singer, Great track, Hell everything was just Great! Alot of us don't have that luxury.

I am fortunate enough to have built up a couple nice vocal chains, a couple of nice Comps and PAs, 3 UAD's, Some pretty good plugs and some pretty kickass treatment to my room. The stuff I record takes about a quarter of time to mix than in the pass with not so good gear.

Don't get me wrong guys, I have to admit that Tony did stress in the DVD that " Great" Outboard Gear IS IMPORTANT!

BUY THIS!!!! IT IS SOOOOOOOOO WORTH MORE THAN $40. The setting is so intimate and it Seems as if Tony is right in front of you taking the time to explain some of his techniques.

Thank-you for the feedback Ron. I'm going to jack the price right
away ;-) J/K .. we'll leave it this introductory price for a bit.

DVD1 was geared a little more towards the beginner and we did
track on a variety of different gear and in different places.

For DVD2, we went for the environment and workflow that Tony uses
on a daily basis. The goal was to up-level the game a little bit from
DVD1.

Can we quote you? ;-)

thanks again,
jeff

Reaper session now available.

FYI,
We now have a Reaper session available. It's not a full mix, but we've
leveled all the audio. Sounds pretty good. We're working on a full-mix (we're
hiring some Reaper experts to help us with doing a full mix translation).

Thanks! It's all HD.. I cry every time I see DVD1 in Standard Def ;-)

Maybe Tony will chime in here . but IMHO, for
Pop, Master Series II is great .. it's all about the vocals
in Pop so yes.

For Rock, probably not. DVD1's sample mix of an Alt-Rock band .. so
I think that one is more relevant. That said, DVD1 spends equal
time in both tracking and mixing .. so we didn't dive terribly deeply
into either topic .. more of an overview.

DVD2, we spent little time on the tracking side of things and 99% of
the time in the mixing side .. so it's a lot deeper.

That probably doesn't really answer your question completely, but that's
my opinion of Master Series I and II (and their applicability).

DVD1 is also available for download (Tony Shepperd's Master Series | Record and Mix Like A Pro).

The short answer is yes. The pop elements in this DVD extend to all genres of music:
Pop/R&B. Pop/Rock. Pop Gospel. Almost everything I do comes from some sort of pop flavor in music.

We're pleased to announce that our Blu-Ray version is now available.

It is at 1080i. Your player must be capable of playing BD-R disks.

Thanks .. it looks really cool to see it on a big screen. (IMHO)
