How can I improve sync stability?

Hello,

I have a question about slaving a DAW to incomming midiclock. I´m trying to get a sp1200 run as master and want the app to lock up to the sync.

Other than to change the sequenserapp, are there any othe fine tuning one can do to improve the stability?

I´m running mac os X and a midisport 2x2 I´ve been thinking about to change the midi interface to one of those that promise lowlatensy and stamping or what ever.
but since I don´t now if it will improve the sync performance or not I don´t know.

Also, would it help to change the internal resolution of the sequenser to mach that of the sp1200?

Anybody?
