Using the Logic Pro Compressor as a De-Esser

I've made a tutorial video for the trick here:

...and while I was at it, one for the Waves Renaissance De-Esser, too. If you're having trouble finding the right threshold (too much action) then switch from WideBand mode to Split (still HPF):

Just great

This is amazing. I've been struggling with the logic deEsser for so long. Anytime I put it on a vocal, no matter what I do, my friend can tell he's lisping. Wish I could come to Europe for a lesson from you

I will, trust me!

I studied with Holger this August and it was a real blast!

To anyone considering making the trip to Copenhagen, this guide is well written and will help out a lot.

Holger is a real stand-up guy and you will learn a great deal of knowledge from him.

Stumbled across this thread while trying to decide whether or not to buy an external de-esser because I didn't like the sound of Logic's own. This sounds fantastic! With the settings you provided it honed in on a problematic mix and fixed it perfectly. Thank you, so much, Mr Langerfeldt for providing this excellent tool and saving me some money, time and trouble.

Best regards!

Walter
