Which off the shelf laptop (UK) to use with edirol UA25? anyone bought one recently?

It doesn't have to be cutting edge, 512 ram / 1.6 pentium m / 5200rpm drive / should be fine.

is anyone using a philips laptop? This looks like a very good deal:

lubaloo. ive commented many times on laptops. please search my back posts...

there are many tips. i'm just a computer engr with a daw studio. four big recommendations. TEST first the UA with the laptop before buying the laptop. make sure at least 512 ram....preferably 1 gig. AND youll see a increase in performance if you replace the slow internal drive with a fast 7200 rpm drive preferably with 8 mb cache. look at a centrino or amd 64 laptop preferably for processor speed.peace.

thanks for the advice Manning. I have searched and read lots, but what I'm really looking for is a specific recommendation in the UK that someone is using and is happy with.
