This is ONLY for mirror drive door macs. Please don't anyone get the wrong idea and think that this is a new 'super duper' silent power system or anything. It's just Apple fixing what they did wrong with the last batch of mirror drive door g4 towers.

Anyway, if anyone out there is wondering if it's worth it YES IT FLIPPIN IS!!!!

Cost peanuts, go here to order.

Bevvy,

Does the new Fan and PS cycle less than the originals? Also do you still have that audio noise on the audio outs of the mac once fan cycling kicks in?

Thanx Bevvy,

For the money, I got nothing to loose. An Iso box is gonna cost a fortune. Its good the gearshifting is gone thats what drives me bonkers.

It would be nice if Apple released something similar for the Quicksilver models. I have a QS 867 and it is rather noisy, perhaps less than the newer MDD, don't know (?). I'd rather pay up to $100 for a new fan kit than spend nearly a grand on an ISO box.

OHMYGOASH I just installed the PSU and fan and WOW is it quieter. Oh boy oh boy oh boy.

Before it was REALLY bad. Now it's (1.25ghz) actually quieter than my G4-400!!!!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

I should have measured loudness before I replaced. oh well.

I'm so much happier in my studio now!

OK, thats it Im ordering the bloody thing. I was going to wait until www.verax.de brought out their solution, but it will undoubtedly cost 3 to 4 times more than apples fix. Now that spring is around the corner the fan is starting to get peskier than ever.
