Weird Crackly Stuff

I tracked 2 vocals on Monday and tracked 2 vocals on Tuesday. I edited on Wednesday and found this:

Both of Monday's vocals had minute crackles in the background and only the first of the 2 vocals had crackles from Tuesday.

I rebooted my machine and checked again and got the same results again. My machine has been very solid and for a very long time. I haven't made any changes, so I'm confused.

I'm using Stacked recording on a song that I record on consistently.

Any theories?

Ian

PS I recorded on Cubase SX2. I now own SX3.

The clocking's gotta be good. I'm going out of an Aardvark Aardsync II through 15' Tara Labs cabling direct into all my units. None of the cables run parallel to any power and I haven't had this problem before. So unless my Aardsync is giving it up . . .
