Which AudioUnits are you using?

I've seen that there a number of freebies out on the net. Well i'm going to be using Logic 6 as soon as it is delivered to my house so what's worth checking out?

I heard the softsynth "crystal" is supposedly nice.

Yea, Crystal is very nice.

Check out: SmartElectron:x

First stop, Destroy FX. One of the programmers there, Marc Poirier, is one of the first programmers to fully embrace AUs and has helped to port as much as he can to the community. He's actually also in charge of doing the SFX Machine port to AUs as well! Also Pick up Ambience by Magnus. Very cool reverb... although my personal fav native reverb (besides Altiverb and PowerCore's ClassicVerb) is actually Apple's MatrixReverb which is built into the OS. No GUI yet, but it sounds REALLY GOOD!

Another great AU developer is Urs Heckman - http://www.u-he.com/

These are all really inexpensive or free. A great resource for this kind of stuff is osxaudio.com

There seems to be a lot of commercial AUs on their way down the pipe this month - PowerCore, Oddity, Spectrasonics, Altiverb...

I'll keep you updated.

I've been in touch with Paul Kellet, he was responsible for the small but many 'mda' plug ins that have become exceedingly useful over the last few years.

You can get hold of some of that stuff that's now been moved over to audio units here:

I've had some email to-ing and fro-ing from him and hopefully he might show up and dispel a few 'myths'
