CPU question, disable Dual Processor function

I've seen on MPN and elsewhere that the Hyperthread Intel chip, works better if it's been disabled for DAR. That's from folks who have SX, Nuendo and Giga Studio.

I've jinstalled Samplitude Pro V.82 and have built a P4, 3.0 Ghz, 500 FSB... HT machine with XP pro, 2, Raptor HD's etc.

No internet and a totally background cleaned OS.

There are a few nuance issues for me, some zipper noise on effects as I'm using them real-time and the HDSP 9632, is not able to receive MIDI on the cable, just on Hosa USB to MIDI device.

The drivers, assigmants etc all check out, but there are... other resource must be using or no MIDI present flashed on the screen.

I'm concerned about latency on the USB conversion so I'd prefer the straigt wire and I guess it might be one of those glitchy aspects of the dual processor.

I'm on the learning curve and assume most idiocy to be pilot error however...

How would I disable the dual processor aspect of the chip?

Thanks,

Rob
