Vertical Dual Screen?

I am shopping for a 2nd screen for my studio setup, and considering placing it above my current screen (there is a perfect spot for it, very easy to mount).

Does anyone have any opinions on whether working vertically with 2 screens is practical in terms of interface / moving mouse and windows over that kind of space as opposed to horizontally? (using XP)

I'm doing this primarily because with my current desk setup I cannot fit 2 screens between my (speaker) monitors.

like switching from a manual to an automatic...

It will just take a bit of getting use to.

Works great for me with two 24" cinema displays over/under. Also, bringing my speakers closer together helped me hear the center of a mix more clearly.

Works great for me... very intuitive setting up. There's my laptop screen (laptop on a keyboard drawer) where I place my mix view and the auxiliary screen right above it where I place the edit view.

As the laptop screen is a little laid back (tilted) they look like this from the side:

' | <-upper edit window
_/ <-lower faders window
^
keyboard
